Once a ringtone is purchased and downloaded to a cell phone's memory storage, it will be available for assignment. This essentially means you will program the phone to play certain free ringtones when certain people call your cell phone. This is generally dictated by song lyrics or memories associated with that song that make you think of a particular person. There is practically no limit to the number of ringtones you can download.
There are various methods for choosing the main ringtone – the one that rings when everybody else calls the cell phone without a specially assigned, individualized ringtone. It may be a song that the cell phone owner particularly likes, one that expresses their personality or musical tastes. It may be a song that simply sounds good in a ringtone. It can be music or voice, like quotes from a movie or television show. A cell phone owner could even select a custom-made free ringtones. An example of this is the line of ringtones that call out the cell phone owner's name and order them to "pick up the phone."
